Inclusive Manufacturing Camps, a Fast Track to Employment
SparkForce works with partner organizations, schools, social service agencies, manufacturers, and other employers to develop job readiness and skills training programs that serve young adults with special needs or disabilities. SparkForce provides funding and support to organizations that will deliver soft and hard skills curricula and practical work experiences to prepare them for employment in manufacturing environments.
Apply to Host a SparkForce Inclusive Manufacturing Camp
Determine eligibility: Your organization is eligible to apply for grant funding to host a SparkForce Inclusive Manufacturing Camp if it:
- serves transition aged individuals with disabilities (16 or older) who are capable of being employed in your state.
- provides adequate facilities and staffing to offer participants soft skills training and job preparation for working in a manufacturing environment.
- can offer hands-on activities and instruction using curriculum provided by SparkForce and/or recommended sources.
- is able to provide participants with real-world work experiences within a manufacturing setting either at your organization or at company partners’ manufacturing facilities.
- works with local manufacturing employers to promote hiring individuals with disabilities and will help participants with job placements once they have completed the camp.
