Are you ready to see how lasers are changing the focus of manufacturing? June 4-6, 2018 is the 25th Anniversary celebration of ALAW® – Advanced Laser Applications Workshop, the industry’s longest running conference, in Plymouth (Detroit), Mich. Year after year, ALAW brings suppliers, researchers, product developers, and end-users together to advance the use of lasers in manufacturing.
So why should you attend ALAW?
The Latest Laser Technology in Action
Grow stronger relationships with colleagues and suppliers during three Open Houses at IPG Photonics, TRUMPF Laser Technology Center, and Fraunhofer USA Center for Laser Applications, and two Technology Demos at Laser Mechanisms and Precitec sponsored by nLight. Each open house offers machine and laser demos, showcases of the latest products, food, and drinks.
Forge New Business Relationships
Over 25 cutting-edge suppliers will be on site during the workshop, generating opportunities to network with laser professionals from across the world and gain new perspectives on current pain points.
22 Innovative Technical Presentations
This year’s technical presentations cover key laser topics like: laser welding of multi-materials, remote laser welding, lightweighting, green lasers, hybrid manufacturing, and laser additive manufacturing. Each topic is addressed in-depth using practical examples and case studies to back their findings. Creating opportunities to go home with ideas to reduce costs, improve quality, save material and reduce weight with flexible laser manufacturing.
2 Sought After Keynotes
Bernard Swiecki of the Center for Automotive Research (CAR) will present a forward-looking perspective on the automotive industry. He will cover forecasts of sales and production volumes, the current NAFTA renegotiations, latest research on new materials, and how this all impacts the automotive industry.
Sarah Kleinbaum of the Department of Energy (DOE) is set to present on the challenges of lighweighting vehicles and how the government can help. She will showcase the technical projects the DOE is currently sponsoring to research, test, form, and join new lightweight materials while still offering the same necessary toughness a vehicle requires.
25 Years of Proven Success
Attendees of ALAW consistently report this workshop is the best industry event encompassing state-of-the-art laser processes for manufacturers, job shops, and suppliers. If you are interested in learning more about lasers and their application in manufacturing, register today.
