NBT Silent Auction Raises Over $17,000 to Support Manufacturing Students
Another successful silent auction to benefit Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs® (NBT) took place at FMA’s 2017 Annual Meeting in New Orleans. Over 300 conference attendees had the opportunity to outbid each other on some of the most unique and interesting donated items during the opening welcome reception on March 8.
The room was abuzz with energy and excitement as colleagues from coast to coast gathered to network and learn about the industry, new technologies, the current economy, and market forecasts. Auction participants could place bids on-site at The Ritz-Carlton reception or online on the NBT website.
As the night progressed, several items caught the attention of the crowd. Some of the most sought-after items were two steel tables fabricated at Fox Valley Technical College’s all-girls manufacturing camp, a GoPro HERO Bundle, an Apple Watch, and a two-day pheasant hunting trip. Other popular items included tickets to “Dancing with the Stars,” a signed mini helmet and rookie card from Chicago Cubs’ Kris Bryant, and a Philco Model 84 refurbished radio, circa 1934, refurbished by FMAC Publisher Dave Brambert.
