High-bay LED Fixture Dissipates Heat

Big Ass Fans LEDBig Ass Fans has introduced a high-bay LED fixture. The fixture is made from a solid piece of anodized, extruded aluminum that includes ribbed fins at the top to increase surface area. The design allows the entire structure to act as a heat sink, moving heat away from the fixture and the LEDs. According to the company, this helps the LEDs to stay brighter longer as too much heat shortens LEDs’ lifespans.

The fixture’s lumen maintenance trays are interchangeable and have narrow, regular, and wide light distribution, so users can redirect light as their companies’ floor layouts change. The trays also protect the LEDs from dirt and debris and can be wiped down or replaced to allow the light to shine fully again.

The lens trays also protect the LEDs from common mishaps and hazards, such as fork trucks, reducing both the likelihood of damage and the need for replacement.

The fixture has an easy-access panel that allows users to swap out drivers and other components so the fixture never becomes outdated. It is predicted to maintain 70 percent of its initial light output for up to 150,000 hours. It also has an efficiency of 110 lumens/watt.
