Category:EDITORIAL_I was delighted to speak at and take part in the excellent Manufacturers Zero Waste conference in Wilmington, N.C. last month. The well-attended event was co-located with the Carolina Recycling Association’s annual tradeshow and included a “zero waste flea market.” Manufacturers exhibited their “problem wastes” on tabletops and recyclers and other manufacturers surveyed them for purchase.
The ingenious session and the entire event was a reminder of how much can get done when people come together.
Sustainable Manufacturer Network has wo such come-together-get-stuff-done events on the horizon—Sustainable Manufacturing 101 workshop June 14; and our annual Sustainable Manufacturer Conference & Exhibits Sept. 26-27.
Looking for an overview of sustainability and how to work it into your plant? Sustainable Manufacturing 101 workshop is a great place to start. Seasoned sustainability Sherpa Bill Stough leads the one-day course to guide those new to sustainability as well as those already advanced in one or two areas through the winding road to get that big-picture,100-mile view of the entire venture.
Have a good sustainability story? Bursting with pride about it? Share it! The Sustainable Manufacturer Conference & Exhibit’s Call For Speakers has been sounded. Please consider speaking and submit your abstract.
